Hello all,

Is there an industry standard PV configuration used to validate software calculations per VIII-1?

Thank you!

Phil

Not that I am aware of.
ASME PTB-4 contains a series of Div 1 examples produced by ASME, however they are not exhaustive of all design by rules scenarios.

Not that I know of, but a floating head shell & tube exchanger would catch a lot if it.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Some Software just re solve PTB examples and compare the results for preparing the validation report. If the software is popular and reputed this should be acceptable to the Auditor.

I have come across cases where an old project software report was compared to a manual or excel sheet calculation.

I have not come across an industry standard so far.
