Steps to Model This Part?

I was wondering what steps are required to create a solid model of this variable pitch auger?

First...what version of NX are you using? (suspecting it is NX10)
but this would be a nice candidate for the sweep along guide with solid body....

Hi Ronald,

Yes using NX10.

The helix is variable but the radius in the root changes as well so I did not think I could sweep along a guide?

Should be possible with variational sweep.

Use the Variational Sweep command to create a body by sweeping a cross section along a path where the shape of the section varies along the path.

You can do the following:

•Sweep faces that are coincident, tangent, or normal to other curves and faces.

•Add secondary sections to vary dimensions at specific locations.

•Extend the body beyond the length of the path or limit it.
