Stitch Weld Symbol

Good Morning,
I'm sorry if this is an obvious question, but I have received drawings with a stitch weld symbol indicating "12" EACH END".
This is for a detail with a WT welded to the bottom of an existing W section for reinforcement.
I am expecting that this means a 12" continuous weld each end, but could anyone confirm that this is the case?

That would be my interpretation, but I didn't draw it so take it with a grain of salt. You said you received them...are you working for a fabricator? If so, send an RFI to the EOR for clarification.

Definitely means 12" at each end before starting the stitch weld. Very common, I would never question a note like that.
