I have a steel platform project that we are preparing a 30% submittal on. Part of this submittal will be estimated quantities.
We have no idea what we are going to build for this project, but heaven forbid we stop the production train from rolling.
So.... I need to come up with some quantities for an imaginary steel structure.
Isn't there a rule of thumb for connector weights as a percentage of the main structure's weight?
For example, if I come up with 50,000lbs of beams and columns for my platform, then connectors will be approximately another XX% ?
Thank you in advance.
