Hi everyone, I am a new ETABS user and I was designing an eight-story steel structure but I realized that my structure period is too large than I decided to model a simple one story steel structure which has moment connections along perimeter and pinned connections at inner beam. All secondary beams and pinned girders has composite beam action. The structure has no additional mass or load -just under its own weight- and Its period is again 0.411.

Sorry asking, it is hard to answer without seeing. But what could I have done wrong possibly?

Your columns and beams are probably undersized; are the bases of your moment frame columns fixed in the major direction? What is the period, by the way?

Actually I didn't give the sizes, I used auto-select list for all members and used design tab. As I said, I'm new in ETABS and I am trying to figure out by watching csi videos. I attached the file, if you can look at it, I appreciate. By the way period is 0.411
