Hi:
Concrete slab (thick) on metal deck (formwork only) with steel beams below. No composite action required. The steel beam ( a few feet long) below just hang from the deck for piping support.
The studs are actually used to attached the beam to the slab. The stud are specified as 14" long based on the ACI embedment check. Is this too long for typical stud? I wonder if this length stud are practical?
Any thought?
