Hello,

I am preparing a materials compatibility matrix for Subsea Components & Equipment for a Project. The materials of concern run from downhole/wellhead, manifolds, jumpers, risers to the FPSO. EEMUA 194 is my only reference guide. Is there any standards, specifications or guidelines for subsea materials compatibility. Also, any related/useful information will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

metengr,

Thanks for your response.
Do any of these standards or practice provide format for developing a materials compatibility report. Specifically, I want to cover all areas applicable to each material and fluids. Thanks again.

Naijatium;
No, you would need to develop your own spreadsheet. The Norsok standards are free for download, I would recommend you review them as a start and build your spreadsheet.

metengr,

Thanks for the information and your time. I appreciate it.

SJones,

The materials have already been selected. My interest is to prepare a spreadsheet showing the connection/interfaces of each subsea equipment or structure materials to each other and fluids passing through them. This is where the issue of compatibility comes up; I would like show the degree of compatibility or risk at the metal to metal, metal to fluid, materials (e.g elastomer) to metal, materials to fluid and maybe fluid to fluid interfaces.

The metal to metal interface for example would probably be by welding or mechanical connectors.

In summary, I am looking for a guideline that addresses the issue of checking or showing the degree of compatibility of the various interfaces in subsea equipment. Thanks.
