Hello all,
My question relates to CT connections on the primary bus in our substations. Most of the CT's we run in our station have 2 bolt connectors but are rated well above what we would typically allow a 2 bolt connector to carry. I'm specifying jumper size based on transformer ratings but at the CT connection I'm going to end up with something like a double run of 500 MCM copper going into a 2 bolt connector which seems silly. Is there a good rule of thumb for bolted connection ampacity? I'm thinking we are likely underrating our bolted connections as we would typically run a 4 hole NEMA pad for anything greater than 500 Amps or so.

Tom
