Hi All,

On LNG plant designed by my office, Owner is taking into consideration GRP coating for piping insulation. I'm wondering about proper way of supporting that kind of piping. What is better to protect coating against damage - stainless steel plate inserted between clamp and coating, or wider pipe clamp?
Any tips ?

Thanks in advance,
MA

I'd think the pipe or insulation mfr will have guidelines. Probably a steel saddle affixed to the pipe insulation by some means, so all sliding is metal to metal, not at insulation OD
