Hi,

I was removing folders in my computer haphazardly and deleted the photoworks data directory. Everytime I startup solidworks I get an error referring to solidworks not being able to find the scenes and image directory for photoworks. I don’t really use it, do I need to reinstall the program or can someone tell me what the directory paths are?

Thanks in advance,
Ed

If you cant start solidworks because of the error (and cant unload photoworks from the "Tools", "Addins" menu, and dont mind living dangerously, delete the 'Photoworks' entry from:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\Startup\Applications\

No,
I have not unchecked the photoworks in Tools\addin

I deleted the data subdirectories inside the Solidworks directory for photoworks (I know really stupid mistake). I believe the program is trying locate a certain folder but can't find it. Does anyone have the folder names for the directory & subdirectories for Solidworks2001Plus?

1. This may sound dumb, but why not reload Photoworks?

2. I have never looked, but surely there is un uninstall for it too?

3. Sequel.... Anyone noticed how long it takes to open large files first time with PhotoWorks 2? (Converting the data.) I am the only one with PhotoWorks at our site. We use SmarTeam PDM, so I don't have write access to everything unless I check it all out (PDM new revs....yadda, yadda, yadda,...) So EVERY time is first time for any library parts and everything I don't have checked out of the vault. I guess we will have to do a macro and glabal update. Since we don't use PhotoWorks much, I just did the same thing and turned off the add-in.
