Hi,

I have tow gens: 200kVA and 400kVA and one "totalising panel" which cheks if Load <200kVA then shut down the primary 400kVA gen and start the 200kVA.

Now we've built an extension and we need both gensets on line to cover the need, can the two be put in synchro? what do i have to order: one synchro for a 1200A load? or is there something in particular i need to look at?

Thanks.

You should look into installing a generator paralleling gear, which can have built in sychornizer, necessary protection and load controls. I would hire a engineering consultant for this. For planning you can contact the generator manufacturer but do not go solely by them.

Even generators of two different kinds can be paralleled. If in the USA, contact a company like Russelectric.
