I was recently working on a model where I wanted to split a cylindrical surface and offset one of the resulting faces. As 'offset face' would not do the job, I was hoping that either 'move face' or 'pull face' would. There is a 'radial distance' option in both commands which looked promising. Alas, either it doesn't do what I imagined it would, or my selection(s) are incorrect. Can anyone clear up my misunderstanding of the 'radial distance' option?
I have attached a quick example file to illustrate (NX6). The green stepped shaft is what I am after, the grey solid is what I got after some fiddling with options (interesting, but not what I expected). I can replicate the results by using the 'distance' option in pull face, so I think my selections for 'radial distance' may be incorrect.
