We require tanker unloading pump to unload Corrosion inhibitor from Tanker to Chemical Injection. Below are details.

As per data-sheet client have asked us to consider self priming centrifugal pump with flow: 3 m3/hr, differential head: 16.07 m, NPSH (minimum): 12.1 m.
Pumping Temperature: 2 to 53 deg C
Specific Gravity: 1.02 to 1.04 @ 15.6 deg C
Dynamic Viscosity: 10 cP @ 40 deg C
Vapour Pressure: 0.032 bar a

My question is
1. Which is best type of pumps for this application. Do we need self priming for this application or we can use normal centrifugal pumps.
2. What are standard make of these pumps in Middle East Market.
3. Can we have a Ramp for the Tanker to improve the suction characteristics of the Pumps.

That's a very low flowrate from a tanker. Either you're not offloading very much or its a small tanker??

If the pump is always lower than the tanker then you don't need self priming, but I would look at AODD although you can get electric ones as well.

With 12m NPSH you seem to have enough suction pressure. The real doesn't appear to be required.

But we can't see what you can so supply a drawing or sketch.

Since these are tanker unloading, dry running capability would be required if there is no means for low level or low flow shutoff. Since you do have pump shutoff at low flow shown on the drawing, you could also look at gear or vane pumps in addition to AODD. 3m3/hr is too small for centrifugal.

Dear Mr. Georgeverghese,

Yes you are right, flow is too small for centrifugal pump. No vendor is quoting for this flow. Max they are asking us to increase upto 6.5 m3/hr.
We are checking if the piping can handle 6.5 m3/hr.
