Good day guys,

Just want to ask if how do you create your Technical Specifications for Security Access Card System (eg. Card Reader/ Badge Reader) Any suggestions? or can you please give me some tips about it. Thank you!

Is this a specification to support government procurement?

If so, start with a market survey. Determine what's available. Then figure out which features are mandatory, and which are rated (score).

I would think that this largely depends on what the purpose of the access system is. Generally, access both a hardware and protocol requirement. Protocol means training, indoctrination, no piggybacks, etc. For classified information assurance, the standard is
CNSSI 1253 Security Categorization and Control Selection for National Security Systems, but that can be tailored down to more mundane levels of security. Just access card requirements are likewise a subset of CNSSI 1253, although that would a long tailoring.

Can you be more specific about the intent?

Oh, this Technical Specifications will be just used for the Contractor to be based upon, I mean, I'm only a new designer so I just couldn't figure out what to put in my technical specifications for the Contractor to be basing upon. My current project today is a BPO industry building, well technically it's kinda bit small but the company required us to put Badge Reader. any examples guys of a Technical Specification Document? Thanks a lot!
