Text Box Trouble

When i am typing in a text box, whenever i hit enter it doesnt go down a line. Instead it just ends what i am typing, forcing me to make another text box for my second,third lines,etc. I am running Catia V5R19. Anyhelp is greatly appricated.

Hold the shift key while you press enter.

In case you are curious why you must hold shift(or CTRL either will work), it is because enter is slaved to the OK button in CATIA and you must use a manual carriage return to get a second line.

So you are trying to say then, that the fact that the 'Enter' key worked as a carriage return in all versions prior to R18 was just a fluke, then?

If I'm not mistaken, this was changed in R18 as an "enhancement". But I'm not mistaken in the fact that it was a very recent change from the method described by the original post.

No, the prior behavior was a Buuug (heavy french accent here).

Technically, the text box was the only place in CATIA where the enter key was not linked to the OK button, so they were "merely streamlining the interface"

Personally, I think they just missed an option in the recompile, and are covering it by claiming it was an enhancement.

But hey, it really says a lot about how far CATIA has come that we are whining about stuff like this. True, it's annoying, but it's something you can work with. Not like some of the stuff we had to deal with just a few years ago.

I personally used to hate that, because it didn't work like I thought it was supposed to. But when I got used to it, and they changed it, (to the "right" way) then I didn't like the "enhancement". (and I still hate it, even though it now works like it is supposed to)

Go figure.
