Thickness Qualified?????

Situation.....
If I used a monster coupon for my Procedure Qualification Test Specimen which has a OD of 2.750" and a thickness of .625" what would be my qualified thickness limitations????? I use QW 451.1 tension and Transverse bend tests

QW 403.2 states that the maximum thickness qualified is the thickness of the test coupon.

QW 403.6 states a min base metal of T or .625" whichever is less

QW 403.8 refers me to QW 451

QW 450/451.1 states that my min is .1845" and my max is 2T(1.250") are these limitations for the PQR only or are these my limitations for welder performance qualification tests also

I want to have my guys covered in unllimited thickness and unlimited diameters what do I need to do??????

I am new to this so any help would be great

per QW-451.1 thickness qualified would be 3/16'-->1.25", and as modified in the notes, for welder performance regference QW-452 and QW-461.9, especially small diameter ( pipe < 2 7/8" ).

If you want to cover your welders go with 2 test pieces in the 6G position with overlapping thickness ranges.

Please look at the tables and again, do not mix procedures with qualification. But both need at least 2 sets of tests
to overlap the thickness.

I wanted to add 2-combination of procedures and performances to cover all my c/s welds,
I had it all figured out when I involved my AI,
guess: he did not let me(by recomendation only), my AI goes more as engineering practice than the ASME CODE,
I am glad he stopped me,
For 2 proccesses I ended up with 4 procedures and a few performances not counting the PWHT and a bunch of money.
I have about 20 procedures for a little shop.
Unbelievable for a small shop. I love it.

According to ASME codes what would be the minimum corrosion allowance thickness for pressure vessels operating at 250 PSI containing LPG at 150F.
What would be the allowable stress for material ASTM SA 516 GR70 at these conditions.

What should be the LPG working pressure having propane to butane ratio as 70:30

First of all what process are you qualifying? QW 403.2 won't come in to play for most of those commonly used. Secondly, is this procedure to be impact tested? QW 403.6 will only apply if it is to be impact tested. Of course you can use an impact tested procedure to support a non impact tested WPS without those thickness restrictions.
As has been mentioned, performance qualifications and procedure qualifications come under completely different rules.
Obviously when qualifying a weld procedure we want the biggest bang for our buck, so we try to consider future needs.
If you will give us your objectives, it will be easier to provide some suggestions.
