Hi everyone,
on the topic of fasteners, I'm looking for something like a Precote compound that has a verifiable or manufacturer's claimed outgassing performance AND crucially can be applied to a thread as small as M2 x 0.4.

Anyone with any such experience out there I wonder?

Thanks all round

If a reputable manufacturer makes a claim as to outgassing at a specified temperature range, they should be able to provide you with the verification documents to support it. The manufacturer should be the first point of contact to attain this.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

The adhesive suppliers will need to provide you with outgassing information. In general, epoxy or uv-curing adhesives are typical for low outgassing applications.

For small threads, omni has versions of the their thread adhesives that are suited for small threads (< M6), e.g. Precote 85-8.

Aerospace fasteners, externally threaded, with self-locking feature typically DO NOT rely on a pre-cured compound applied to the threads: they use a patch-locking element embedded in the threads.

MIL-DTL-18240 FASTENER ELEMENT, SELF-LOCKING, THREADED FASTENER, 250F MAXIMUM
MIL-F-8961 FASTENER ELEMENT. SELF-LOCKING, EXTERNALLY THREADED, 450F AND 1,200F
