Threads rolled vs cut

Hi all,
the answer to my question is in almost every engineering book, but how far off are single point cut threads from rolled ones ?
To my knowledge the best scenario, regarding strength and fatigue life is rolled threads after heat treatment,
but that's quite difficult to achieve in the home shop for external threads .
So my main question is how would you approach making studs in the home shop ?

If you have to make them, cutting them with a lathe or die is your only real choice.

You can buy threaded rod in ridiculously long chunks, made to thread and material/bolting standards of your choice, from most fastener houses. Cut them to length, chamfer the ends and chase the threads, done.

You can roll threads on a lathe.
They sell roll dies that mount like a tool bit.
Just note roll threads require major diameter to be modified. Google dimensioning f I r roll threads. Or consult sales eng to help you with the correct calcs. You will need to run test
To get correct size.

I recommend to buy a set of go and no go gages,
Verify size . Second option is to have it thread ground from solid. Just machine tiny centers at each end.
