TIA-222G Self-Supporting Tower

I was reading the TIA-222G manual and it said that

Section 2.3.2 Strenght Limit State Load Combinations
1. 1.2 D + 1.0 Dg + 1.6 Wo
2. 0.9 D + 1.0 Dg + 1.6 Wo
3. 1.2 D + 1.0 Dg + 1.0 Di + 1.0 Wi + 1.0 Ti
4 1.2 D + 1.0 Dg + 1.0 E
5. 0.9 D + 1.0 Dg + 1.0 E

Exceptions:
1. Temperature effects need not be considered for self-supporting structures.


Do guyed towers fit under the "self-supporting structure" definition? Need a bit of clarification, b/c I reviewed and the POWER software does consider temperature effects in its calculation (page 3).


Any help on clarification of what "self-supporting structure" in the context of cell towers would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would not consider a guyed tower/mast to be a self-supporting tower. I don't believe TIA-222-G provides a formal definition of a self-support tower but you can that it treats self-support lattice towers, guyed masts, and monopoles differently throughout the Standard, including in Chapter 3.4 (Analysis Models).
 
Well, then I guess industry standard assumes that "self-supporting structure" is the same as a "free standing structure".
