Does anyone have experience in how long to erect the following tanks in Alberta?

80,000 bbl ------ 8 months?
40,000 bbl ------ 6 months?
25,000 bbl ------ 4 Months
20,000 bbl ------ 4 Months?

Your input is much appreciated.

Your question is lacking a lot of info.

1. Are you talking about a single tank or all of the sizes being erected at at the same time at site?

2. Are the tanks insulated?

3. Are the tanks internally coated?

FTank,

Thanks for your input.
1. Considering a single tank.
2. Insulated shell only.
3. Internally coated.
4. Crude oil, sour service, internal floating roof.

Could you recommend any construction companies for the field installation?

Regards.

ASSuming good weather w/temperatures above 10°C and carbon steel basemetal, those times are very long. Somewhere between half and 1/4 of your guesstimated time would be about right. Wish I could recommend an erection company. See if Chicago Bridge & Iron works in Canada.

Matrix also does tanks in Western Canada I believe.

I agree that the OP's guestimated times are long for erecting JUST THE TANK.... !

However, the site preparation before tank fabrication can begin is very, very important
(i.e. will the tanks have a concrete or clay foundation ?)

Although rare, in swampy, icky areas, some large tanks can require piles for support!

As stated above, the choice of internal and external coatings and the rquired length of time to apply the coatings can certainly affect the schedule.

Like all of Canada, tanks must be hydrotested and certified in Alberta... this affects schedule

Before petrochemical tanks can be filled, fire protection systems must be in place

So....... sxz.......... What exactly did you mean by "erecting the tank" ???

Our company Will be up in canada this fall?
We build about any kind of storage tank or vessel you can think of.

i have the same question

inernally & external coating
and how specisify the time to remove old tank

Its been a while since looking at this post>>
Depending on the location and time of year, this makes a big factor
Now a 15 meter x 12 meter tank with a column supported roof and all the basic appurts in good
weather should take about 6-8 weeks with a crew of 6-8 men working 50 hrs per week.
This size of a tank should take about 1700 manhours to construct.

You can figure about 4 weeks for coatings.
2 weeks for the foundation.

Cheers
Larry
