I am using ProE 2001. In the part model at the bottom of the screen only displays first place through 3rd place decimals along with the angular. My company uses 4 place decimals, is there anyway to add a fourth place decimal to the display screen? The display is currently set ex: x.x +-0.1, x.xx +-0.01, x.xxx +-0.001, Ang. +-0.5

Each of these can be modified. Is there a way to add a fourth place dimension to be able drive the entire part model.

Here are a couple of config file options:

display_dwg_tol_tags
yes, no

Sets the display of the tolerance tags that appear in drawings. This option does not affect the display of tolerances on dimensions.

default_dec_places

sets the default number of decimal places (0-14) to be displayed in all model modes for non-angular dimensions. it does not affect the displayed number of digits of dimensions as modified using numdigits. the number of decimal places of dimensions created in sketcher is controlled by the option ``sketcher_dec_places.''

Hi Heckler,

I tried both of the config files that you had suggested. I think that what I am trying to get at is where would I be able to adjust the 4th place tolerance for the entire part model if it is not displayed on the screen. There are only the 1st, 2nd & 3rd decimal place listed on the bottom of the screen to adjust the values, but not for the 4th place.

Thanks

Check this website

It lists all the config options for Pro/e 2001. It's a config file option I know for sure I just don't have time to dig into it.......

The config option is linear_tol_0.0000 (# of zeros can go up to 6, for that many decimal places accuracy)

Thanks everyone for your help. I have tried all but the problem that I am having is this. After changing the configuration option to linear_tol_0.0005 the system is overiding my parameter to put in .0001 as the tolerance in my 2D from the model. I am not having that problem with the first, second or third place tolerances. Those tolerances transfer from the model fine.

We are setup using Ansi as the standard. Is there anyway to control the 4th place tolerance in the model. The config file is set correctly for the different decimal places. I can change the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place tolerance by doing a modification of those tolerances at the bottom of the screen. Where is this option control for the 4th place.

Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, I should have made that more clear. The config option is linear_tol_0.0000 the value is 0.0005.

Thanks again for everyones help. I think that the main problem that we are having is being generated from already constructed parts. The linear_tol_0.0000 is set correctly in the config.pro. There is no way to actually go into the 3D part and change that tolerance for the 4th place manually. The start_part template is generating an outdated tolerance for the 3D at .0001. If I start a new part without using a start_part template that does not happen.

I am not able to change the linear linear_tol_0.0000 to the 3D until it is brought up in the 2D and then I have to add that parameter. Then you can do edit value and that will change the 3D part model. Is there a way to do this without having to cahnge the value in the 2D.

Can that be changed in the 3D part component outside changing it in the config.pro and the 2D, on older generated parts.

Thanks
