Top of Metal Stud Wall to Sloped Surface

I want to attach the top track of a metal stud wall to a sloped roof. The roof purlins are perpendicular to the wall. Is there a proprietary clip that is often used for a connection like this? Or is a custom made, light gauge bent plate required?

The roof slope is a 4:12 and I can't see a typical track working. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm yet to find a proprietary clip for this, always gone the bent plate route.
 
Could one install CFM blocking between purlins and then attach to that with track conventionally? Or would blocking be more hassle than bent sheet?

 
Do you need the continuity of the track for something or do you just need a stud to purlin connection? Like the others, I have used the custom bent plate but I always also needed the track continuity.
 
Depending on the height of the wall/demand on the connection, etc., you could bend both flanges of the track so they remain vertical while the web matches roof pitch. You'd have to miter the top of the stud. I'm assuming this would be a slip track? Wood deck? Steel deck? PEMB? I've seen this before...never spec'd it though.
 
I talked to a Clark Dietrich rep about this. They said they can custom make deflection tracks where the slots would be vertical relative to the slope, but you would be better off using the old fashioned deep leg track system. You use a track with 2” or 3” flanges and the studs just slide in there. There would be a gap between the studs and the bottom of the purlins and no mechanical attachment from the studs to the track. You just have to put u-channel bridging through the studs near the top of the wall, usually at the first punchout.
 
KootK - The wall lines up with the purlin above. Bottom of purlin slopes with the roof. I have a condition where the wall doesn't line up with the purlin and I am going to install CFM blocking and anchor to the blocking. I still need a bent plate here because the blocking member is sloped.

Ron247 - The wall is a segmented, exterior shear wall. I am thinking using a bent plate to anchor the top track.

jayrod12 - Purlins are at 3'-6" on center.

dold - I've thought about this but if you bent the track and had it on an angle, I don't think it would be wide enough for the stud to fit between the legs. Existing building is ugly... It is similar to a pre-engineered building, but without the engineered part. Two orthogonal 6" channels, welded together to make columns with 6" wide flange beams to make frames. 6" channel braces and "collar ties".

txeng91 - Thanks for the info. I do want a mechanical attachment between the studs and the track though.
