Transfer Slab Detailing

Hello everyone, i want to ask about the transfer slab detailing, currently im finishing the model tranfer slab using safe for 24 storey shear wall transfer on plate and unfortunately i got result 2 layer of bar 50 dia. at 100mm spacing at almost top area of the column and i need to convert 50mm dia. bar to 32 dia., since the size not available in my country...
can anyone advised on detailing, since my thickness cannot be increased anymore due to high restriction from client & architect. thickness of slab is 1700mm.
it's possible to arrange reinforcement bar top & bottom like we did on column & beam?

Transfer slabs can be quite tricky to detail...not something which can be readily explained in a few words in a post such as this. Perhaps a sketch would help but if your slab is 1700mm thick, I would expect it to be reinforced top and bottom. Two layers of 50mm bars at 100mm o/c seems a bit overcrowded to me. If you are planning to use 32mm bars, perhaps you should provide additional layers top and bottom to facilitate concrete placement.

Does your country have access to post-tensioning sub-contractors?

If so, consider a PT transfer slab design, assuming your company has relevant experience.
 
I am concerned by the comment "at almost top of the column", I am hoping that you are using some column strip type analysis rather than stress resultants at the top of the column to get draw conclusions.

1.1m thick transfer slab is not an easy task.... hope you have someone to bounce your design off in your office.

Transferring a shear wall supporting 24 levels is conceptually wrong if it is one of the main lateral force resisting elements. At the very least it should have columns at each end of the wall that go down to the footings. Even 1700mm seems thin for a 24 storey transfer unless it is more of a transition than a transfer. Its not uncommon for transfers of this magnitude to be a storey deep.
 
anyway Thanks for the reply, actually this is my first design on the transfer slab, previously we design by using transfer beam with is more direct way than slab. since the site too small and the framing not effective for transfer beam, my boss has suggest me to try for transfer slab.

Im also thinking about provide additional layer to cater this 50 dia. bar, my concerned it's this extra layer will react the same way of 2 layer 50. dia at 100 c/c spacing.

Yeah i got exposed in some of the project using post-tensioning & im already issued to the client about this option, but still i need to show comparison between this two option & at least to show this transfer slab is not cost effective based on drawing details presentation.

Yup im done some column strip type analysis on the column. Unfortunately my senior was not around this week to look at my design.

Yeah, i think the 1700 thk. maybe not enough.

Currently im still analysed & try to understand the the concept and analysis.
