Transform Question

I looked though previous questions regarding transform in 7.5 but did not see what I was looking for. In NX5, I could transform (move the position of a solid body) for example 1.00 inches by choosing the vector and setting the distance and finish by clicking "ok". If I knew I wanted to move it 2 or 3 times I would click apply and not have to reselect the object. With the move command in NX7.5 I have to reselect the object when I click apply, is there a work around?

Thanks,

I assume that we're talking about the...

Edit -> Move Object...

...command, correct?

After selecting the object(s) to be moved, select the 'Dynamic' Motion option in the Transform section of the dialog and when the XYZ Translate/Rotate 'Handle' is displayed select the desired Translate or Rotate axis. Once selected, an on-screen Distance/Angle widget will appear. Enter your desired incremental Distance/Angle and hit 'Enter' on the keyboard as many times as desired. At any time, you can switch to another Translate or Rotate axes and continue by entering a new incremental value and hitting the 'Enter' key. If you wish to define an arbitrary Axis, whenever one of the Translate handles is selected the Vector icon is active in the Transform section of the dialog so that you can orient the direction of the handle however you wish using the tranditional Vector options. Again, once oriented in the desired direction, you can once again hit the 'Enter' key to incrementally move the selected object. However, please keep in mind that in order to accept the final position of the object, you will need to select either the OK or the Apply button which will complete the Move Object operation.

Anyway, I hope this was what you were looking for.

try it works really fine.
clicking the vector arrow inserting the value and enter several times.

Perhaps I did not word it correctly. After I click apply, the apply button greys out. I have to almost redo the entire command, select object, choose vector and click apply again. In NX5, I could click apply several times moving the object multiple times base on the vector and distance that I had previously set.

I guess there isn't a way to make it how it was before.

If you would simply READ and FOLLOW the workflow I outlined in my post you would see that while it is true that the APPLY button is NO longer part of the workflow (except for at the very end), that you can still accomplish the exact same thing as you were able to do prior to the introduction of Move Object in NX 5.0 And NO, there is NO chance whatsoever that we will change this to behave as you seem to insist that it must since that would make this one functions inconsistent with the current dialog behavior of virtually all of the rest of NX where the new style dialogs have been implemented. Then how do I explain THAT to all of the people who have ONLY been using the software since NX 5.0?
