Hello Engineer,
I require your expertise to help me resolve my problem in my hydraulic model during transient analysis, I have a Firewater network after the closure of a valve for the event of 10,50,100,200, 500 secs pressure spikes above the maximum allowable pressure for the pipeline, and I don't see oscillating pressure in my graphs of the upstream pipeline of the valve which I closed. All of this transient analysis is done on pipenet. Can I get any help to resolve the surge pressure in my pipeline.

Simple way is to increase the valve closure time to reduce the surge pressure rise.

For manual calculation of surge pressure, you can use AWWA Manual M11

I tried with 1800 secs( half hour) there its still the same with a very little difference.

Can't tell from that description, but sounds like there is something wrong with your model. But what i can't tell from here.

Your description is too sloppy at the moment to tell what is going on.
