Hello everybody!

Does anybody know are there some compatible tri-clamp standards among the below mentioned which could be assemblied with each other or they are all non-compatible?

ASME BPE-2002
BS 4825 Part 3 / ISO 2037
DIN 32676
DIN11864-3
ISO 2852 and SMS 3017
SMS 3008
ISO 1127 Schedule Pipe Size
BS 6362 Schedule Pipe Size
ASTM A312 Schedule Pipe

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

By Tri-clamp, you mean sanitary fittings???

There are a number of Tri-Clover knock offs that do just as good a job as Alpha-Laval.

Otherwise, there is some cross between metric and standard sizes, but very few. Most of your list are different threads. On the flip side, there are a large number of commercially adapters which will allow for the change of standard.

worst case you'll have to make your own.

These are weld on fittings. Whatever tubing you weld them to, they will mate. Sanitary fittings will mix and match, just so long as they are the same "size".

Where you may run into issue is the associated tubing diameters. Keep your ID's continuous and match your gasket to that opening, and you should be fine.

In my experience, there is no problem with the gasket grooves but the real issue is the ID of the clamp (i.e tubing). You will have problems if you are using dissimilar standard material for sterile applications, particularly SIP systems. Since the ID varies, you have dead legs in the system in this creates problem for drainage of condensate.

If ID projections are not an issue then you can very well use one standard TCs for any standard piping.

Yes... I think it might be an issue for sterile applications...
Thank you!
