Hello,
I learned finite element methods, and though I am a practicing engineer I like to read different books on FEM. Every time I get new insight or realize something in a nicer way. And yes, sometimes I get new questions that I haven't realized before!
Differential (strong) and weak forms are fundamental in the theory and all software are based on this theory. I wonder why can't we use say a C1 or C2 continuous displacement and trial function? Just because will it complicate the computation or any other reason is there?
