Hello everyone,

Box can you please help me. If outside of the turboexchanger and one of the Cold Box pipe of nitrogen producing Cryo unit, ice and snow built up, does it mean that there is internal leak? (see picture in attachments)

also did you have any experience of Cold box internal lines plugging or leaking? what are the consequensies?

will appreciate any kind of help!

It can also mean that the perlite in the cold box is not effective anymore- check for water vapor ingress into the cold box - usually there is a continous N2 provided for the cold box - is it operating ? If there was recently some maintenance activities around the expander area, the cold box should be thoroughly dried to remove water vapor. Also if the plant is very old, and the perlite is contaminated or degraded, it may be time to replace the entire perlite inventory in the cold box.
