Hi, I have a question for itsmoked but any help will be apreciated. I'm looking for a way to use a cps-10n psu from an old yaskawa cnc controller but without the cpu. The psu works and the source led lights up but I can't power up the main outputs . I think that the on signal is in the bus like connector in the back of the psu but I can't understand the circuit fully.

I found a bit of info in the thread thread797-255263 so it seems that is possible.

Thanks a lot for your help

dhweizel; There are three pins on the big 60 pin connector that need to be connected for the supply to fully power up. That was what, seven years ago? Gah! I don't remember which three. I will look around my office later today and maybe find that info but no promises.

Thanks for your reply itsmoked, the fact that there is no watchdog or something more complicated is a great news.

Success!!! the missing bit of info that there is three pins to power on was the key.

For the posterity: in the corner of the connector (from the back) there is a gnd pin surrounded by pins with pull up resistors to 24v .

To power on the psu you must short to gnd in this way :

[tt]The conector:

1 2 3 (gnd)
4 5 6
* * *

Shorted: pins 1,2,3,6

Thank you very much

Yay!!! That is excellent! Good thing too since 2 hours of rummaging did not turn up the notes or jumper I expected to be sitting around the two CPS-10Ns I have. I'm very relieved you got it.

So what are you doing to/with your CPS-10N?

I'm retrofitting a hyundai drill tap center, originally it use a yasnac mx3 with some problems and I'm installing a new computer running linuxcnc.

I planning to reuse the 24v psu to avoid the need to run new cables and connectors to the io.
