I am working on a multifamily 4 story on top of a podium slab (two way flat plate post tensioned). I have tracked the actual loads down to the podium slab and ran the design strips using post tension software.
When designing the column itself, do you design for moments (DL+LL+ hyperstatic) superimposed from both directions (banded and uniform) as biaxial bending or do design the column for reactions and moments obtained from each direction individually (uniaxial bending)?
