Hi, I'm new user from Italy. Nice to meet you.
Actually I'm trying to understand TXVs' (thermal expansion valves)setting.
It's very hard finding specific literature about this topic.
Supplier has gived me a four-quadrant diagram for a specific TXV model.
Someone knows exactly how can I use this tool?

Best regards
Lorenzo

Yes, I've already read Sporlan bulletin but it doesn't treat four-quadrant topic.
I can't find nowhere some informations about 4-q diagram.

Anyway, thank you.

The 4-quadrant diagram is just a clever way of showing the inter-relationship between the valve opening, evaporator pressure, evaporator temperature, refrigerant flow rate and super-heat on a two-dimensional graph.

It's useful to confirm that the valve selection is comfortably in the middle of it's performance envelope for your design conditions, and that you won't go outside of the performance envelope at the anticipated extremes of your application.
