Please take a look at the attached sheet metal part. When I click the unfolding button I get an error. If I suppress the holes on the side wall I don't get the error anymore. Those holes should not affect in any way the folding/unfolding. Can anyone explain what's happening? Is this a bug? I am using SW2009x32 SP3.0, Win XP x64, Quaddro FX-3500, 4 GB of RAM.

dogarilla,

I get the same error as you. I even deleted the dimensions and changed from "up to next" to "through all", but the error persists. I am also on SWX09-SP3.0.

It looks like a bug to me. Have you sent this to your VAR?

No error if the miter flange is suppressed as well (or even the miter bend under the flat pattern feature), but I didn't see the relation in the short amount of time I was able to mess with the file.

That is strange, however the problem can be resolved by increasing the gap at the corners of Edge-Flange2 to .03.

To further Redline8's finding, if the Miter Flange is replaced with an Edge-Flange, the part also flattens correctly.

BTW, I assume you meant the Flatten function rather than "unfolding" because the Unfold function worked just fine.

Strange. I even inserted an unfold, added the holes on the flat then fold it back. Still error. Replacing the Miter flange with an edge flange won't work with a tear relief. It will work with a rectangle relief. I will send the part to my VAR now.

My VAR informed me there is a Service Pack Request with Solidworks in regards to inconsistent “flag” warnings. He attached this file to the SPR so it will get bumped up.

Hi, dogarila
is the K-factor (0,01) in your model correct? I try it with K-factor 0.5 and everithing is OK.
