Greetings,
I have run into an challege with model I recently made. I assembled some components in a file and then promoted them so I could add fillets and cuts for machined features. A problem has come up in the drawing since I had to unite the promoted bodies so I could do some of the operations. The problem is with component callouts. The BOM shows all the components that are used to make the assembly, but since promoted bodies are united all the balloons will come up with the same item number.

Any ideas on how to work around this issue?

Off the top of my head, when you do your unite, could you keep the target and tool bodies, making them visible only where called out?

Sorry for the delayed response. The Unites took place over several different steps because several operations (move face, extrude, etc.)had to be done to get the final geometry I was looking for. In the end all bodies were united.

I don't exactly know what you mean by keeping the target and tool bodies. Can you elaborate on that more?

ok I think I am squared away now after playing around with keeping the target and tool when doing the unite.
