Updating drawing link to new/different Scene

Using V5R19,

I've been using scenes in modeling as a quick way to hide a large number of parts to create a specific drawing view from the Scene. When I was still figuring out how to use Scenes I created several that were fully overloaded at their creation. This prevents an update to a lower level product or part from being reflected in the scene and is an undesirable effect. I understand there's not a way to change that setting once the Scene has been created. Is this true?

So if I have a drawing view created from a particular Scene, I'm wondering if there is a way to link the drawing view to a different Scene. I tried just opening the model and recreating the Scene and giving it the same name, but that didn't work - the drawing links became broken. In Edit-Links, I can see the name of the Scene the view is looking for and 'Replace' would allow you to change to a different file but I'm hoping to change to a different Scene in the same file. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Modify Links (from the contextual menu of the view) will permit you to navigate to the CATProduct, select the desired scene, return to the CATDrawing and apply the scene to the view.

weavedreamer - Thanks for the help. That was enough to get me there. I was not able to use the 'Link Modification' dialog to change the Pointed elements. Only the 'Remove' button was available and after removing the scene that was the Pointed element I didn't figure out how to use this dialog to select a different scene. I'm not sure that's what you said to do anyhow.

That did get me to 'Apply Links To' in the same view contextual menu. I quickly created a random view from the scene I wanted to establish a link to and used the 'Apply Links To' to get the link I wanted on the views I had already created. I think the part of your instruction that I might be missing is "...and apply the scene to the view." If there was a better/different way, I'd love to know it. Thanks again for the help.

its a quirky dialog

remove the scene link
with the dialog still active
switch to the 3d and select the scene
switch back to the 2d
the new scene will now be listed in the bottom setion of the dialog
click add all
update view

...This thread just saved me a shit tonne of time!! THANK YOU!!!
