Is there anyway to add the ID call outs of items in the BOM, associatively, to notes in that are in the drawing? what I want to do is have notes like ITEM 3 IS TO BE PLACED.... and have the number 3 associated to the part with that ID. That way if the parts list changes the notes are updated same as the ID symbols. The parts list item number is $~C but that won't bring in the item number and if you don't use that circle for the ID symbol, it won't be associative to the ID.

In the Note dialog box, expand the text input -> symbols category; change the category to relationships, select insert object attribute and select your component (change your selection filter to component to make sure you get it), then simply select the CALLOUT attribute from the list. You will end up with some text like <W!12345@CALLOUT> in your note, this references the component's callout attribute.

I'm writing in reference to NX 7.5, for versions down to NX 5 or so the sequence should be similar.

Yep, that works. I didn't think about selecting the component and the assembly won't have the callout attribute of the components. Thanks for the pointer.
