I am trying to find if there is an easier way to put greek letters in excel. Right now I am putting for example a "g" then I change the font type to symbol for gamma.

Do you guys have an easier and more efficient way of typing greek letters in excel?

THANKS

changing complete cells is a little easier using the format painter

Insert --> Symbol (keeps it in the current font).

I typed the alphabet in normal font. Copy and paste to the next column and change the font to symbol. I printed this and post on my wall. When I use excel it's easy to find the associated normal alphabet character, then change the font to symbol.

If you have just a few symbols that you use on a regular basis you can figure out what alt-codes they are and use those. For example,

alt-0177 - plus/minus
alt-0216 - diameter
alt-0176 - degree
alt-0181 - greek mu

Otherwise you can open Character Map and drag 'em over.

You can highlight the text in the edit form and change the font style to symbol (has nearly the entire Greek alphabet.
