Define "better"....

Cheaper
Easier to construct
More able to resist damage
Corrosion free
Something else?

Only then can you say something is "better" than something else.

agreed, better means later on in operation which is robust and maintainable.

kind regards

What fluid, temperature, installation location, likelihood of damage?

while we are at it, which car is best for me? I don't tell you anything about me, but still expect you to give me good advice.

Not much in it.

Steel can corrode if you don't protect it or prevent condensation forming, PE doesn't.

PE can creep, say and get brittle.

PE is a little easier to cut and insert a repair or new connection, but steel not far behind.

Very vague question with no information so equally vague answer.
