Vibration Monitoring

Does anyone know if it is possible to carry out basic vibration measurement on a piping system which is insulated without removing the insulation?

Vibrations are transmitted very easily through the whole piping system so there are many options.
a. an uninsulated Flange
b. an uninsulated Valve Body
c. an Insulation Shoe where it touches a Pipe Support
d. a Probe (Nail, etc.) poked through the insulation

Get creative, you will find the answer.

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
