I am looking for a vibration test for fasteners that is accepted industry wide (i.e., Automotive, Aerospace etc.)
To determine clamp load retention curves for various locking devices, a bolt test machine called the "Junker" (transverse shock and vibration machine machine) has been suggested. The braced bolt is stressed vertically to the bolt axis by a displacement unit that is adjusted with a cam. The preload (bolt tension) is measured by a load cell and vibrating motions are generated radialy through the bolt (transverse shock and vibration).

I have visual representations if one is requested.

Weather the Junker test is used or something similar is not important. The recognition by industry leaders is. I have not found any specific tests in my preliminary search of ASTM etc. societies.

Thank You

Did you ever find a source that has a Junkers vibration tester?

See thread725-33273 for Junker-type testing.

The MIL-STD-1312, Method 7 test (Now NASM1312-7) is another test has been historically used for aerospace fastener qualification (with the specific requirments per the applicable fastener performance/procurement specification).
