view sectioning in 3D part / assembly

Dear colleagues,

Do you know if it is possible in CATIA to create a sectioning view in 3d modelling part / assembly environment, which is not "plane - based" ?

In other words: is it possible to create a section view with a sphere or a given surface or volume as a sectioning tool ?

You can temporarily SPLIT a part with a surface to see it's section.

You could also temporally SPLIT all the parts in an assembly.

The sectioning tools are planar only.
