I would like to see the inlet to an evaporator coil. The coil is in a dark, sometimes wet and generally inaccessible location most of the time. The intent is for operators to know if ice is building up on coil.
Does anyone have any product recommendations?

Indirect observation via pressure drop.

Ice = higher pressure drop.

Differential pressure transmitter; temperature transmitter; refrigerant pressure transmitter on leaving side of evaporator; infrared camera with its own source of infrared light.

I've used the first three with great success. If you really just want to have a visual, there are all sorts of cameras available that can handle those conditions. Panasonic is my favorite brand of IP camera.

Good on ya,

Goober Dave
