Hello everyone,

How do I know the volume/mass of fluid has been added in the cavity when using fluid cavity in abaqus?

Check the CVOL (hydrostatic fluid cavity volume) output variable.

Thanks so much. how about the ***ERROR: Excessive rotation of node number ? What is going to check? I am using abaqus/explicit with general contact

Check where this node is located and what role it has.

Hello all,

How do I know how much mass I have been added in the fluid cavity? I am trying to model a pod with certain mass of fluid in that cavity? how to define the mass of the fluid? Thanks

Thank @ FEAway. May I ask why the PCAV value drop to zero at the beginning of increment? I have set the initial pressure use predefined field. I found the reference node move out of my cavity. However I do run the ABAQUS example, the reference node also move out of the cavity, but pressure not drop to zero. Please help.

Check if there are any warning messages. Maybe try pressurizing the cavity with fluid cavity pressure boundary condition in the first step (deactivate it in the second step).

Thanks. I only have one step. Basically I am doing drop test of a pad with some kind of fluid in it. I defined the initial cavity pressure use predefined field. I believe this is the correct way to define it right? And apply pressure in BS is totally different thing right?
