Wave linking doesnt update all the time NX 7.5...

Ok, While I'm at it today I've got another annoying issue. Wave links that seem to either orphan for no apparent reason... and wave links that appear to be "live" but dont update when something changes.

Ex:
Solid linked from one part to another... then subtracted. Move the parent part... the subtracted body doesnt always go with it.
I get that alot more with linked curves. I do that when fastening parts together. As my work progress I have to move things around and it's handy to move one feature and be able to forget about the feature in the other part.

Except it doesnt always work.

I'm not a newb and know about parts being fully loaded before they sometimes will update. This really does seem to be a ligit problem.

Oh... I also see this type of inconsistency in the "hole series" feature. Sometimes they update... sometimes the dont.

Am I alone in this?

Dave, you are not alone, I have seem similar behavior in NX 4 thru 6 and have no reason to believe that it would be any different in 7.5. In my cases I was unable to get GTAC to reproduce this, and I myself, if starting a new set of data to duplicate the issue couldn't do so. Do you have something that is repeatable?

I'm not sure... I'm always under the gun to deliver the job and this issue is something I've just suffered with.

Like you... I've been using a long time (NX2 or earlier) and can't say I've seen any trends over the years.

But now that I'm thinking about it... it does seem like the problem develops as the size of the job builds. I always start to run into problems as I'm making final adjustments to the assembly. Thats when I get killed.. in both performance and breakdowns like this.

Hey Guys...any news on this problem...I'm gettin this all the time also. Linked geometry is not updating when the parent moves. The only way I have been able to correct it is to reestablish the link...and who likes to do the same thing twice...not me!

Relevant for this problems are the load options.
Have you turned off partial loading, are the wave (external) references loaded? - the load option turned on?. Use the latest nx software versions MR+MP .
