As above. During my job search, I frequently met these terms and am not sure about their full definitions. Are they actually the same? For example, a hospital can be a public project or capital project, right?

Probably just different language that different organisations use for broadly the same thing.
I would interpret it to mean that they are new projects funded by government at one or another levels. As oppossed to the project being a maintenance or restoration job.

they are not all the same and not all government, nor are they all "new"

[ul]
[li]public - for public use, may be partially or totally funded by a government agency[/li]
[li]capital - any large project, private or public[/li]
[li]infrastructure - basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, pipelines, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society, public or private enterprise[/li]
[li]municipal projects - relating to a city or town or its governing body[/li]
[/ul]

They are not all the same:

• public as compared to private; public projects are the government projects funded with tax money; private projects are anything except government projects.
• capital is basically money to fund projects. Public projects are funded from taxes or user fees. Private capital funds private projects.
• infrastructure - basic facilities such as roads, pipelines, power plants, airports, subway, ports, bridges, water treatment plants, public buildings, etc. needed for the operation of the greater community. Infrastructure can be public or private.
• municipal projects - relating to government funded infrastructure projects.

in the context of "projects":
capital projects are usually identified in a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) which is often a 5-year plan for a agency or corporation to build, repair or improve its infrastructure. As used by BIMR, "Capital" is also synonymous with money

Thank you for your replies. I think I am clearer now. Usually, these type of expressions frequently occurred in Government job postings. I assumed that they are all governmental projects, is that correct?

These terms are usually associated with discussions regarding financing of large infrastructure projects.
