Occasionally while using NX3 (3.02.2.3) an exclamation point will appear in parenthesis after the file name at the top of the display window. For example, it will read something like this...

file_name.prt (!)

If the file has been modified, it reads like this...

file_name.prt (Modified) (!)

What does this mean? How do I get rid of it?

Short answer is, it means something is out of date.

Thanks, cowski. I tried searching the forum and didn't see anything. I guess I wasn't searching for the correct thing.

First you should see this only with an assembly file and generally this indicates that either some Mating Conditions/Assembly Constraints in the part file are out-of-date, or some WAVE linked geometry is out-of-date.

Attached is the relevant section from the User Documentation covering the meaning of this 'flag'>
