Hi All

Do you know websites that put competitions and challenges of designs from different companies more often with awards ? on design of mechanical elements to finite element analysis ...etc ?

Electrolux's Design Lab has been holding some design challenges/competitions. Is this what you are referring to?

"Art without engineering is dreaming; Engineering without art is calculating."

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of these Forums?

GrabCAD publishes design challenges regularly, which usually involve a cash award of some kind.

yes thank you but it seems to be stopped at 2015 ,no?

LCform, I don't think they've announced for 2016 yet.

Perhaps you have look into the AutoDesk Design Competitions.

Check NASA's website as they seem to have design competetions.

Participating in eng-tips can be a major challenge, but unfortunately there are no prizes or financial gains to be had.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

LCform:
It would really appear that writing meaningful and full sentences is quite a challenge for you. Try proof reading what you write, from the perspective of someone who has no idea what you are talking about or thinking, and see if it still makes any sense. Then rewrite it until it does make sense to the audience you are trying to reach. Try doing the job you are being paid to do, competently and well, that could be quite a challenge for you too. I agree with TheTick on that account.

@dhenger : 1- I don't know if the basis of your judgement was only this post, If you think writing meaningful is really a challenge for me, I invite you to read my other posts and then give your idea

2- at least 3 or 4 people understood correctly and responded appropriately, So I don't think there is such gross problem but I would apply changes on the question if I could

3- Try not to be mean, and what I do at work does not relate to what I do as a hobby, I don't think that it's relevant to what you ask here

Here is a NASA site along with similar ones on the same web page and if you are truly interested in engineering design competition.

*NASA Systems Engineering Award Sponsored in conjunction with the SAE Aero Design competition, this award invites SAE entrants to apply systems engineering
