Wind Class 4 - Which code is this?

We have a client importing some roof/patio type structures from Italy. They specify they are compliant with a wind Class 4.

Which code is this from?

I need to try equate it back to an Australian equivalent. Our winds are expressed in "m/s" are a peak 3 second gust speed.

Any help appreciated.

Is the structure used to block sun? It's probably European CE NORM EN 13561
wind class 4 would be 'storm winds' to 16.7m/s, but this depends on the width/height of your structure.

In wind calculations, the only 'class 4' I can think of is the terrain class, 4 being urban (1 being coastal) but I don't see how you can comply with that.

(note: I am not a professional, I just did a bachelor in structural engineering but doing sth completely different)

Yeah it is. Its a aluminum lourve type roof. Horizontal 'planks' that turn to close up and form a roof, open to let in sun.

pretty small things, say 3mx6m, probably 3m off the ground.

16.7 m/s isn't much at all. Light breeze here.

I would check the CE norm, I didn't find it with a quick google. The value 16.7m/s was from a manufacturer brochure, does seem low, I think it's the start of the range. And as mentioned it will depend on the area of your structure.

Our start wind speed for residential in this area is 40 m/s. Further north jumps to above 70m/s.

will have a look at that document. I doubt they would withstand much by the looks.
