Wind load Parabolic antenna

hi,

I try to calculate the Wind load on a parabolic antenna with ASCE 7.6-05 . I want to consider the worst case of the antenna but I am not sure which influence the shape of the antenna has. Can i just say that the antenna is flat?

Yes. It is based on the projected area. One other approach is to treat it as a dome (laid on its side). I would keep it simple and just consider the projected area, much like you would consider a sign.

If you are looking for wind loads for parabolic or conical or grid type, Go to "Andrew Antenna" website and download their wind calculator.

It will give you all the worst wind loading values and direction for the antenna.
