What is the best method to determine the uplift wind load on a horizontal sunshade (ASCE 7-10)? The sunshade protrudes about 3.5' from the side of the building.

My thought is to use Components & Cladding for a Gable Roof Overhang (< 7 deg). Do you agree?

Thanks!

Agree if it is a solid sunshade. If it is an airfoil/louver sunshade you might need to consider more of a lattice frame approach, but in either case C&C is appropriate

ASCE 7-16 now has wind load provisions for attached canopies on buildings with height less than 60 feet. This could also be an appropriate method for the horizontal sunshades.
