We use UGV18 and ProE2001 on Win2K platforms.
A UG session will consume 1.9Gig of RAM, before running out of memory and crashing: ProE 2.2Gig (this according to information read from the Windows task manager).

Incidentally, multiple sessions of UG and/or ProE will each run to the above limits simultaneously.

Our impression has always been that the platform, and not the applications it runs, limits the amount of available RAM.
We're soon to change to a WindowsXP platform, and preliminary testing shows no improvement. We expected to get 3.5Gig .

Has anyone else encountered this ?

Hi,

We have encountered this situation with UG NX on WindowsXP platform with 2GB RAM. Dosen't matter how much is the total of available memory, our system run out of memory at 1.91 GB. Can you tell me how much of RAM you use to your system?
Because we intend to increase at 3 or 4 GB of RAM and if it is a problem of the platform I don't no if is usefull to increase the RAM.

Thank's

Hi jsmc!

You must login like Admin and write in the file C:/boot.ini the following line:
/3GB

This increase the allocated memory for one process up to 3GB

We have tryed and it works!

Have a nice day!
